Who We Serve

CORE PLACEMENTS

Fort Bend Junior Service League members each select a core placement with which they devote many volunteer hours.  This gives members the opportunity to provide direct service to one of the five core placement agencies in Fort Bend County who FBJSL serves.

Fort Bend Junior Service League is proud to announce that the 2025-2027 Core Placements are Child Advocates of Fort Bend, East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry, Fort Bend Hope, Fort Bend Seniors Meals on Wheels, Gigi’s Playhouse and Reining Strength Therapeutic Horsemanship.

The mission of Child Advocates of Fort Bend is to strengthen the child’s voice, heal the hurt and break the cycle of abuse and neglect for children in Fort Bend and surrounding counties.  Volunteers at Child Advocates of Fort Bend can serve as Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for children in foster care, work in the playroom at the Children’s Advocacy Center or educate the community through school visits or community tabling.

The mission of East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry is to address the basic human needs of families facing food insecurity and/or temporary financial crisis in East Fort Bend County. The goal is to alleviate hunger and raise community awareness to the problem of the needy in East Fort Bend by: 1-Efficiently administering the Interfaith Food Pantry. 2-Aiding persons and families in temporary crisis situations. 3-Helping persons understand and utilize resources within the community.

Fort Bend Hope is solely focused on education; believing education is the key to breaking the cycle of generational poverty. Education is so much more than facts or figures. It is opportunity and choice. It is control of your own future. It is an investment in yourself and your family. Take the first step today and own your future.

Fort Bend Seniors is committed to helping seniors remain independent by enhancing their quality of life through services and recourses. Fort Bend Seniors aim to ensure that each senior in the community has the nutritional sustenance they need each day to maintain their strength as they age, as well as the support and interaction necessary to combat social isolation. This is achieved through the Meals on Wheels and Congregate Center meals. Volunteers may assist with Meals on Wheels, Congregate Center, wellness calls, and various fundraising events.
