Dear Friends of Fort Bend Junior Service League,

For more than 15 years, the women of Fort Bend Junior Service League (FBJSL) have enjoyed camaraderie, friendship and the joys of volunteering together to make Fort Bend County a better place.  Since our inception in 2001, the League has raised nearly $4 million dollars for charitable organizations in our community.  In addition to money, the ladies of FBJSL work tirelessly volunteering and provide an amazing 20,000+  service hours annually to our community.

Our Members have the opportunity to volunteer with any of our 6 Core Placements.  These agencies each meet an important and diverse need for our community, serving a wide spectrum of Fort Bend County residents.  We conduct a bi-annual review of placements and explore opportunities to work with new ones.

In addition to volunteering with our Core Placements, members of FBJSL work on our largest event, the Sugar Plum Market.  The Market is our annual fun-filled holiday shopping extravaganza with more than 100 vendors.  Ladies in the league work on this event year-round and last year’s record-breaking year raised over $300,000 for more than 25 deserving Fort Bend County charitable organizations.  The 2017 theme is “Believe in the Magic” and we encourage you to join us at the Stafford Centre on November 3th and 4th to shop and help create more magic in Fort Bend!  Or better yet, become a Sponsor or purchase a Preview Night Ticket for the evening of November 2nd, and enjoy an exclusive night of shopping before the general public.  This fun, festive, holiday event will certainly be magical!

The wonderful accomplishments made by FBJSL both at the Sugar Plum Market and with our Core Placement agencies could not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of each and every one of our amazing volunteers.  From our newest members, to our long-standing members; and from our Sustaining members (Ladies over 50), to our Teen League members (Young Ladies in 9th -12th Grade); each of these women offers a unique perspective, talent, and contribution to FBJSL.  We are a diverse group, who are passionate about giving back to our community!

I am humbled, honored and privileged to serve as the Fort Bend Junior Service League President this year.  Each year we choose a theme for the league year and in our current climate, when there is more bad news than good, we will work this year to remember “All You Need is Love.”  We LOVE the community we serve and we LOVE whom we serve with – the answer is always more LOVE.

Jen Rizzo
FBJSL President
