Sustainer Council
Our Sustainer Council leads the Sustainer group, planning fun activities, volunteer opportunities and coordinating the Dining Divas program.


Ann joined the FBJSL as a sustainer many years ago and has served on the board as the Vice President. She’s from North Carolina where she attended nursing school and then joined the USNavy where she met her husband of 35 years, Bill. They moved to Richmond in 2007 with their two sons – Will is now married and lives in Houston, and Beau lives in Richmond. They have way more dogs than any one family needs…
Ann is the Nurse Navigator for Women’s Services and Pelvic Floor at Memorial Hermann Sugar Land. She’s spent the majority of her career working with new Moms and babies both as a nurse and lactation consultant. She runs a supportive group for new Mothers – Mom4Mom Club which as over 1100 members and no drama! She is also active with the March of Dimes, and coordinates the Gulf Coast Blood Center’s blood drives at MHSL.

Terri Stuart is the Grant Administrator for state and federal projects with the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office, where she works to secure critical funding for public safety and victim services. A proud Richmond resident, Terri brings over 30 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, having served with respected organizations such as the YMCA of Greater Houston, the American Red Cross, and the United Way of Greater Houston.
A dedicated community volunteer, Terri has been an active member of the Fort Bend Junior Service League since 2006. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Houston.
Terri and her husband Jess live on the historic Stuart Ranch, where they continue a legacy of Texas heritage. Married for over 28 years, they are the proud parents of Savannah Grace (25) and Randolph Foster (12). In her free time, Terri enjoys reading, writing fiction, and exploring her family’s genealogy.

Sheryl currently serves the League in two roles: Event Placement Lead and Sustainer Director of Publicity. She brings nearly nine years of dedicated service to the League including a year serving on the Board of Directors as Sustainer President.
Married for 32 years to Marshall, she spent two decades homeschooling their three children and now enjoys being Oma to two grandchildren. Her community involvement includes serving on the Board of Directors Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers, Chaplain for the Tejas Chapter as well as State Vice Chair, membership in the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, and as a Core Leader in the Katy Class of Community Bible Study.
When she’s not serving, you will find her crocheting, scrapbooking, reading or learning Mahjong.

AJ Bez is honored to serve as the Sustainers Sugar Plum Market Liaison for the Fort Bend Junior Service League this year. A dedicated member of the League, AJ has previously served in several leadership roles, including Placement Lead for Meals on Wheels, Sustainer President, Vice President, and Communications Chair.
Her passion for community involvement extends beyond the League—AJ has volunteered in the VIP tent at the Arts Fest at Smart Financial Centre, Frontier Days at George Ranch, and the CASA Fashion Show and Christmas Home Tour.
Professionally, AJ is a Realtor with Benevides and Associates. She also runs a thriving pet-sitting side hustle that reflects her love for animals. A proud Greatwood resident, AJ is committed to health and wellness—she’s a regular at F45 Greatwood and has walked at least one mile every day since January 1, 2023!

Adrienne has been a Sustainer since 2011 serving in roles including President (2 years), Dining Divas Chair, and Membership Chair. She has also been on the FBJSL Advisory Council and Nominating Committee. She is a Sustaining member of Junior League of Houston and serves on several boards in Fort Bend County.
Her current professional position is with The George Foundation, as Executive Director of The George Ranch, a local Texas history education center for academic field trips.
Connie Lapotaire began her 37 year career with a major oil company in Illinois as a mail room clerk. After transferring to Texas, she gained experience working in various positions and was an Oil and Gas Revenue Accountant when she retired.
She is an avid baseball fan and stays busy volunteering and enjoying her two grandchildren.
In 2023, she moved to Richmond, Texas, with her husband after living in Sugar Land for 30 years.
LaQuita is a 25 year old Regional Human Resource professional and the Bestselling Author of The Power of Self-Care. She is a proud graduate of Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. LaQuita and her husband Lyn enjoy volunteering together and traveling. She also enjoys reading, writing, and exercising.

Gayle Cooper has worked in the public sector for more than 30 years, serving at the federal, state, regional, and municipal levels. Before entering her career in economic development, Gayle was Finance Director for US Senator John McCain and later for Arizona Governor Fife Symington.
A Master of Science (MS) degree in Global Technology and Development from Arizona State University, Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) status with the International Economic Development Council, and years of experience in the field have combined to give Gayle a solid grip on the importance of a strong public infrastructure to support private sector development.
Having begun her economic development career at the Arizona Commerce Authority, Gayle went on to hold leadership positions in a regional economic development corporation and in many municipalities of Metro Phoenix and North Texas.
Gayle has presented at several public sector conferences regarding economic development, including one at the University of Guam focused on economic development and the military. She also appeared on a nationally televised program regarding public/private partnerships featuring her affiliations across the US-Mexico border.
While in Arizona, Gayle served on prominent boards in Phoenix and Scottsdale and recently held a position on the board of the Texas Economic Development Council. She is a Paul Harris Fellow with Rotary International and a past president of the Junior League of Phoenix.
