Message From The President

Welcome to the Fort Bend Junior Service League!

It is an honor and privilege to serve as President of FBJSL for the 2026–2027 League year. Since 2001, the Fort Bend Junior Service League has been dedicated to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women, and improving the Fort Bend County community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.

FBJSL was founded by 24 women with a shared heart for service, and more than two decades later, that same spirit continues to guide us. Our members are women who give generously of their time, talents, and resources to support nonprofit organizations throughout Fort Bend County. Through service projects, community partnerships, fundraising efforts, and leadership development, we strive to make a meaningful and lasting impact.

As we begin this League year, our theme, Shine Bright in Service, reflects the heart of who we are. Each act of service, whether big or small, brings light to our community. When we serve together, we strengthen not only the organizations and individuals we support, but also the bonds within our League.

This year is especially meaningful as we celebrate the 25th Annual Sugar Plum Market, our signature fundraising event. Since its beginning, the Sugar Plum Market has allowed FBJSL to support countless nonprofits across Fort Bend County and continue our mission of women making a difference.

I am grateful for the incredible women of FBJSL who continue to lead with compassion, dedication, and purpose. I am also thankful for our community partners, sponsors, sustainers, and supporters who help make our work possible.

Whether you are a current member, prospective member, community partner, or visitor learning more about our League, I invite you to explore our website and discover the many ways FBJSL serves Fort Bend County. Together, we will continue to shine bright in service.

Yours in service,
Michelle Vargas
2026-2027 President
