Fort Bend Junior Service League Awards 2026 Volunteer Scholarships to Six Outstanding Young Women
Fort Bend, Texas: The Fort Bend Junior Service League (FBJSL) is proud to
announce the recipients of the 2026 Volunteer Scholarships, awarded to six
exceptional young women who have demonstrated a strong commitment to service,
leadership, and community impact throughout Fort Bend County.
Following a competitive application process with an impressive pool of applicants,
the selected recipients distinguished themselves through their dedication to
volunteerism and their passion for making a difference in the lives of others.
Collectively, this year’s recipients contributed an impressive 2,954 volunteer hours
and achieved an average GPA of 3.87, reflecting both their academic excellence
and deep commitment to service.
The 2026 FBJSL Volunteer Scholarship recipients are: Anna Kate Beck, Ayushi
Kasotia, Olivia Porter, Aleena Qadri, Saige Sowa, and Sophie Zeng. “These young
women truly represent the heart of service in our community,” said Brandy
Edwards, FBJSL Scholarship Coordinator. “We are honored to support them as they
continue their educational journeys and carry forward a lifelong commitment to
giving back.”
The scholarship recipients were formally introduced at the League’s April
membership meeting, where they were recognized for their achievements and
welcomed by FBJSL members.
Funding for the scholarships is made possible through the League’s annual
fundraiser, Sugar Plum Market, a fully volunteer-run holiday shopping event. Thanks
to the dedication and hard work of FBJSL members, the League is able to reinvest
proceeds directly into the community through scholarships and grants.
FBJSL has proudly contributed more than $6 million back to Fort Bend County
nonprofits and initiatives, supporting over 100 organizations and dedicating more
than 200,000 volunteer hours in service to the community.
