Total proceeds from this year’s Market were $285,000 and were presented to local Fort Bend County charities on December 11th at a Check Presentation Party held at Memorial Hermann Convenient Care Center at Sienna Plantation.
The following beneficiaries each received some of the event proceeds: The Arc of Fort Bend County; ARTreach; As One Foundation; Catholic Charities; Child Advocates of Fort Bend; East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry; Fort Bend Community Partners Rainbow Room; Fort Bend Family Promise; Fort Bend Lawyers Care; Fort Bend Women’s Center; Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council; Houston Museum of Natural Science at Sugar Land; Literacy Council of Fort Bend County; Lunches of Love; The Rose; SIRE Houston’s Therapeutic Equestrian Center; Texana Center; and Fort Bend Junior Service League’s Community Assistance Fund. A portion of the funds will also benefit FBJSL by supporting infrastructure and technology upgrades.
The “Let it Snow” themed Market was a huge success with over 8,000 shoppers enjoying beautiful décor, a large raffle showcase, and more than 100 unique vendors. “We are proud to announce this year’s Market proceeds and want to thank our sponsors, volunteers, and Market patrons who play such an important role in our success,” said FBJSL President Dana Clement. “Without you, we wouldn’t be able to do what we love and support so many agencies in Fort Bend County!” Since its inception in 2001, the Sugar Plum Market has raised more than $1,900,000 for Fort Bend County charities.
